Generate • Use • Store

Power your home and store what’s left.

During the day, solar can power your home first. When production exceeds household demand, available energy can charge Powerwall 3 for later use.

  • Uses available solar energy at home
  • Stores eligible excess production
  • Keeps grid power available when needed

What Should Your
Powerwall Protect?

Backup power is not one-size-fits-all. Select a starting profile, then choose the circuits and equipment that matter most to your household.

What determines your system?

A responsible recommendation starts with your home—not a generic runtime estimate.

01Electrical Capacity

Your service, panels, circuits, and equipment starting requirements.

02Energy Use

How much electricity your selected loads consume throughout the day.

03Backup Duration

How long you want priority equipment operating without grid power.

04Solar Production

Whether solar can support the home and replenish stored energy.

New system planning

Coordinate solar and storage as one energy system.

A combined design can align panel production, inverter capacity, stored energy, backup loads, and future expansion from the beginning.

  • Unified solar-and-storage design
  • Backup priorities planned before installation
  • Equipment placement coordinated together

Important: Existing-equipment compatibility, grid charging, export behavior, and available operating modes depend on the final design, utility requirements, and Tesla-supported configurations.

From Assessment to Activation

A Clear Path to
Backup Power.

A Powerwall project involves more than mounting a battery. The electrical system, backup strategy, equipment location, permitting path, and commissioning must work together.

Understanding Project Cost

What Shapes a
Powerwall Quote?

Your price should reflect your actual home and installation—not an online average. Select the factors that may apply to see why an on-site or documented assessment matters.

The Exceed Approach

A Better Battery Starts With a Better Plan.

We approach Powerwall as an electrical system—not simply a product mounted on a wall. Every recommendation begins with the home, the loads, and the customer’s real goals.

Powerwall 3 Questions

What DFW Homeowners
Want to Know.

These answers provide a practical starting point. Final performance, compatibility, installation scope, and operating features must be confirmed for your home.

There is no responsible universal runtime estimate. Duration depends on which circuits are backed up, their actual consumption, starting loads, battery reserve, available solar production, weather, and system configuration. A load-based assessment provides the most useful estimate.

It may be possible, but HVAC equipment must be evaluated for running demand and startup requirements. The answer depends on the specific equipment, electrical design, other simultaneous loads, and the number and configuration of Powerwall units.

Powerwall can be charged from solar or the grid, but available features and economic benefits vary by configuration, utility requirements, electricity plan, and operating mode. We evaluate both battery-only and solar-connected approaches.

Compatibility depends on your current inverter, solar architecture, electrical equipment, system age, and the approved integration method. Existing solar should be reviewed before a retrofit recommendation is made.

The correct quantity is based on two separate needs: the power required to operate selected equipment and the energy required to operate it for the desired duration. Solar production and future expansion plans also influence sizing.

A properly configured backup system detects the interruption, isolates from the utility, and supplies stored energy to the loads included in the backup design. Exact transition behavior and supported equipment depend on the installed architecture.

Powerwall 3 supports scalable configurations, subject to Tesla compatibility rules, available installation space, electrical capacity, product availability, and applicable permitting or utility requirements. Future expansion should be discussed during the initial design.

Powerwall is designed for minimal routine maintenance, but the installation area should remain clear and the system should maintain reliable connectivity for monitoring and software updates. Follow Tesla’s owner documentation and address system alerts promptly.

Tesla publishes a 10-year limited warranty for Powerwall 3. Coverage, energy-retention provisions, connectivity requirements, exclusions, and remedies are governed by the warranty document applicable to the product and installation.

The physical installation timeline depends on system size, equipment placement, electrical upgrades, solar work, and site conditions. The full project schedule may also include design, permitting, equipment availability, inspections, and utility coordination.
